Type Locality and Naming

Along the Kattakamysh Gorge, Southwestern Gissar. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.42). Stratotype in the Kattakamysh Gorge, near the village of Aktash. Included in the Kattakamysh Horizon (56; 190; 300; 363; 383; 446; 452).

Synonym: Kattakamysh Suite, Каттакамышская св.

Lithology and Thickness

At the bottom, dark gray and gray clays with layers of shell limestones, at the top - gray and reddish clays, sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites) with layers of white and pink gypsum. Thickness 125-280m
